Dawn Robertson - "Feeling inspired by the "Grab Him by the Ballot" campaign launched by Anja Schütz, I wanted to do some reckoning in my home state of VT. With the "Me Too" and "We Too" movements and recent confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh, there is much at stake and the original campaign has evolved. We are here to show the country these recent events have served to strengthen our resolve to bring about change within the system through exercising our right to vote. We aim to encourage voter turnout in the upcoming November elections and raise awareness of legislative impact on women’s health, bodies and reproductive rights.
I brought this group of courageous women together in a very vulnerable container for the protection of all women’s right to choose regarding her body, health, reproductive rights and sexual expression. And in outcry against the collective sexual and emotional abuse and trauma endemic in our society. I champion the rights of marginalized women including transgender people, women of color and physically disabled women. Each of these groups are represented in the photos! Our bodies are ours, beautifully unique and natural forms of expression..we are reclaiming the over sexualization of our bodies while celebrating our own sexuality".
